Dr Garnett will perform a comprehensive assessment of your sports injury or musculoskeletal condition and will provide an accurate diagnosis and personalised treatment plan. He treats patients of all ages with acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems involving muscles and tendons, ligaments, bones and joints. Some of the common conditions he manages include rotator cuff related shoulder pain, osteoarthritis, tennis elbow, low back pain, Achilles and patella tendon pain, frozen shoulder, stress fractures and plantar fasciitis (heel pain). Dr Garnett aims to restore your physical health to allow you to safely return back to your sport, occupation or previous active lifestyle as quickly as possible.

Dr Garnett is trained in musculoskeletal ultrasound and offers this service in his clinics for diagnostic purposes. He can also organise rapid access to further imaging modalities such as X-ray, MRI and CT scans and other investigations such as nerve conduction studies. For the majority of sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions, a conservative treatment approach can be effective in reducing pain and improving function. During your consultation, Dr Garnett will discuss the different treatment options that may include the following:

EXERCISE REHABILITATION

Rehabilitation exercises may be prescribed to facilitate your recovery by improving muscle strength and control, and increasing joint mobility.

INJECTION THERAPY

Joint and soft tissue injections with steroid, viscosupplementation (hyaluronic acid) or PRP may be offered in combination with exercise rehabilitation.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Shockwave therapy is an effective treatment option for chronic tendon problems when used in combination with exercise rehabilitation.

SPECIALIST REFERRAL

A referral to another MSK specialist such as an orthopaedic surgeon, physiotherapist, rheumatologist or podiatrist can be arranged if required.
